BrigliaMcLaughlin Obtains Complete Recovery on Summary Judgment for Surety Client

On March 7, 2017, BrigliaMcLaughlin obtained summary judgment on behalf of a surety client in the case Developers Surety and Indemnity Company v. Belcher, et al., before the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. After considering, and rejecting, the indemnitors’ many challenges to the necessity of actions taken by the surety and the reasonableness of the attorneys’ fees, the Court entered judgment in the surety’s favor for the entirety of the surety’s losses, including the recovery of all attorneys’ fees and expenses in investigating the surety’s losses, achieving completion of the bonded work, and pursuing indemnification.
